Live your life wide open

Hi Everybody!! It's Kelly here! I want to thank each and every one of you, Artist and generous supporter. What started as a little effort to do a small act to help the oiled animals of the Gulf disaster - has grown bigger and faster than I ever thought. (I didn't think- I'm just wingin it)
I have to adjust my administering of the art in and the donations in so that I can have a bit of my life back. While you all have been creating little miracles in the form of sketchcards - I have stopped doing all of the art I need to. I have Mount Laundrymore waiting for me and it would be nice to shower and feed my kid a non-frozen meal.
I will fall into a pattern of posting new art only in the evenings. It takes me a day or so to get through all of the donations and process them. I may stumble a bit - mess up here or there. I ask for your forgiveness as I'm a typical artist- I live in organized chaos.

What has grown organically here is so much more than me. It has truly rippled across the world. I am so proud to be an illustrator and share that thread with all of you.

  12. Congratulations on creating something so positive from such a negative thing. You should be so proud of yourself. I'm sorry, I've now told everyone I know about this blog, so I'm afraid I'm not going to help you with your laundry load!

  15. I just want to say you rock Kelly!!! Tell hubby to pamper you a whole lot because you deserve it lady. ;o)

Take a weekend to hot dog house and rest, draw, rest and draw some more. And think of all the good you've done, of the many ripples that have reached every corner of the world thanks to you. When I created the S.S. Ripple card I was thinking of you.. That's little Kelly in that boat.

    You inspire us all.

    xo

  16. The last thing you should do is put yourself at the bottom of the list ;)

Unfortunately this crisis will need our help for a long time to come. Post as you can. You can't do anymore than you're already doing and I'm sure we artists, buyers, supporters all understand. You are doing an AMAZING, unselfish act here and I thank you.

Take little bites Kelly, and don't neglect your own wonderful art!

Thanks so very much for doing this.

  18. Hi Kelly,

Perhaps you can ask other artists (or non-artists) who are familiar with Blogger to volunteer in helping you to manage the Ripple blog project. You can then take turns in posting the new material until the volume subsides.

  21. THANK YOU- all! - Really this is all of you guys. I've received a personal report from a woman cleaning birds in Florida. She says it takes 3 bottles of Dawn to clean 1 bird. That's 1 sketchcard a bird. We are helping if we keep them in funds to staff and build and supply cleaning centers. It's all about hope for the animals. Thanks -Kel
