I am an artist/illustrator/mom living outside of Boston, MA. I love doing anything creative and messy. For the past four years I have been working on a body of work which I call the Dress Project ~ I create and recreate the dress form in a myriad of media and materials. The 'dress' image is a vehicile for me to explore emotion, ideas and opinions. For the Ripple project I realized that I needed to create a dress representing some of the many animals affected by this oil spill because this disaster just makes my heart ache!!!!

594. SOLDA Song

I am an editorial illustrator working freelance in a small Quebec town, (oui je parles francais), I work mostly for magazines and newspapers in Canada and in the US. This topic touch me deeply, as I am following this story from the beginning, being a news junky. Since the animals have no voice, I felt I had to give them one.

I am doing digital collage so if sold, these two illustrations will be printed on archival paper, signed on the back and shipped to you.

592 SOLD Whales Know

My daughter, Harmony, 11, has a fierce heart for all animals of the world (she hopes to travel the world caring for them, some day), which is also equal to her love of painting. As soon as I shared the Ripple blog with her, she set to work with her watercolors, to recreate an image that the oil spill has stamped on her mind. It is a 5x7 titled "Whales Know". We hope that in some small way this can help create a better hope and a better future for all of these innocent creatures.
