Some of the greats may not be household names yet but are no less great. They have many books published - give of their time in mentoring - environmental activism - promoting literacy for kids - and many are just so darn good! They have given their time and talent to help the animals of the Gulf.
This schedule may be tweaked as more cards come in. Check back often to make sure you have the time to try to get one you would like.

We will be asking a $50 donation - for each of these cards. $50 for the 50 states of this nation that want to see the oil stop gushing into the Gulf.
TO BUY A "GREAT AMERICAN ILLUSTRATOR" CARD: At posting the scheduled posting time (not before) the FIRST person to send an inquiry to: ripplesketches@verizon.net stating card name - artist name and number and get a response that it is yours must THEN go donate to one of the Non Profits and send the copy of the confirmation a.s.a.p.. We will mark the card "HOLD" and when we receive the confirmation we will mark the card "SOLD". We will only hold for one hour. Do not donate before inquiring first. Donate after being told it is yours. We'll have a lot of people wanting the same card. It's first come- first serve here on Ripple- just be the first to say "I WANT THAT SKETCH!!!" - then be quick about the donation and confirmation. All information must be included- the artist, the card, the number. And you must send all of your info with the confirmation and we must see proof of a $50 donation -not just the confirmation number. Your address must be included also. It will be sent to the artist to mail the card out to you.

In 2002 he published his first fanzine: "Jabberwocky", an adaptation of the homonymous poem by Lewis Carroll. His next work came in 2003, part of his comic online, "The Tragical Comedy of tHe FishMan and the Fish." Four years later, in 2007, appears "Catálogo Cachalote Comix" (Cachalote Comix’ Catalogue), a compilation of sketches, illustrations and comics made between 2000 and 2007. Between 2008 and 2010 FHNavarro did editing, layout and coordination for the digital magazine Sushi Online (http://coleccionsushi.blogspot.com/). The magazine closed with a triple number in February 2010. In March, FHNavarro participating in the joint exhibition, "Painting for Haiti." In June, he participated in the exhibition "6x6 2010" organized by Rochester Contemporary Art Center in New York. Also in June, he published his new silent comic online "Dos hojas" (Two leaves). Hi Everyone!!!!! It is Monday morning- June 28th. As I sit here and type- we are passing the $6,000.00 raised mark. I am amazed and grateful and awed by what we as artists have done- 1 sketch at a time.
This effort started with a small group at it's heart of children's Illustrators who are friends of mine- and I owe each and everyone of them a hug. For the next month of July - Ripple is going to spotlight some other children's illustrators - that you probably know and love. (I know I do) I perused my book shelves to decide who to ask.... and SCBWI has been a wonderful support as well.
"Great American Illustrator" Month - The cards that will be spotlighted are by illustrators who, having already established themselves as amazing artists and writers and animators - have chosen to throw their pebble in and make a ripple. Also -in this patriotic month of July- we will be asking a $50 donation - for these spotlighted cards. $50 for the 50 states of this nation that want to see the oil stop gushing into the Gulf.
The $10 cards will keep posting- nothing changes with them. The $50 cards will be posted on Mondays - Wednesdays and Fridays.
TO BUY A SPOTLIGHTED CARD: (Here's the difference) The FIRST person to send an inquiry and get a response that it is yours must THEN go donate to the one of the Non Profits and send the copy of the confirmation a.s.a.p.. We will mark the card "HOLD" and when we receive the confirmation we will mark the card "SOLD". Do not donate first and send the confirmation. We'll have a lot of people wanting the same card. It's first come- first serve here on Ripple- just be the first to say "I WANT THAT SKETCH!!!" - then be quick about the donation and confirmation.
I think I've mentioned this before- as a result of Ripple, I get personal reports from a woman at the IBRRC. She said it takes 3 bottles of Dawn Dish Detergent to wash one bird. $10 buys 3 bottles of Dawn. We have raised enough to buy 2,000 bottles of dawn - cleaning a potential 668 birds. (it's all figurative) - BUT- it puts it in perspective. We can help keep these two non profits in supplies. As the oil continues to flood the waters and endanger and damage so many species of wildlife - we do what we can. And we do it together.
It's exciting for me to see who's coming! I know it will be exciting for you too! - KELLY

When I was 11 a sea turtle laid her eggs in our garden on the wrong side of A1A and so when they hatched I filled my pockets and my shirt and made many trips across the road to get the baby turtles on their way to the ocean before they could be hit by cars. I can’t save them from this.

Lee Moriarty is a young artist living in Newton, Massachusetts. Her love of the ocean has inspired her to create "Oil Hand." Her hope is that this small gesture will help the larger effort in restoring the Gulf of Mexico. The art is approximately 4" x 6" and created using marker, pencil, and colored pencils.

My name is Jo Swartz. I live in Toronto, Canada. I am a former fashion designer and creative director. I am currently working on writing and illustrating children's books. I am deeply concerned about what is going on in the Gulf and with deep-sea drilling in general. My name is Jose and I'm learning to draw, consider myself better at just pencil, but I'm learning to use different media. The first piece is "ESCAPE". One of my first attempts at watercolor pencils, also mixed with ink (micron and brushpen). The next is a quick pen-brush experiment called "WHO DID THIS?". (I will do some more... I don't want to stop until the oil stops either).
