Thanks to Mo!

All of Mo Willems' sketches are off to good homes. His two night gig here at Ripple has raised $450 to help clean the animals of the Gulf. He showed his love for that region in those sketches - thanks for sharing that Mo. Also thanks to all who came out to buy Mo's sketches - it's fast and furious fun trying to claim one of these treasures. Thanks for the ripples - Kelly

What was RIPPLE

"We don't have to feel helpless. We can help. Our small actions together will ripple outward. "

This was the call to "arms" or "pencils" - in this case. We are all artists - children's book illustrators- animators- fine artists and some big hearted kids - who all felt the need to do SOMETHING about the animals effected by the Deep Water Horizon Oil Spill that occured in 04/10. The worst environmental disaster in our nation's history. What made this disaster different? It was man's doing. It was greed's doing. It harmed the innocent creatures who inhabit the waters and bring wonder into our lives. We did this to them and we couldn't sit idly by.

So we all did what we do - we drew, we painted, we created. This blog took on a life of it's own- spread around the world and gave people a place to say "I care" and "I can help".
