Janeen Mason writes and illustrates children's picture books from her studio in South Florida, a stone's throw from the ocean that she loves. Her books have won numerous awards including most recently the Ben Franklin Silver. One of her books was a finalist in the 2010 Book of the Year Awards at BEA. Mason is the Secretary of Florida's Council on Arts and Culture and considers herself an arts activist.
