Colleen continues to struggle with the wildlife of the Gulf's suffering and came back to help again. - It's a small act that is HUGE in heart.

Colleen M. Madden did not grow up. There's nothing grown up about her art at all. That's why it's FABULOUS! She is in New Jersey where (I think) she lives with her family as the best kept secret in children's books. (but not for long) She has five books out so far! Keep your eye on her...

Colleen works digitally so this will be a digital print. She will sign the back for you. If you would like her card it is a $10 donation. See details to the right.

I wanted to share Amanda's thoughts- it's what this blog is all about. We can all do something, no matter how small, so we don't feel helpless.

"Eden is 8 years old and in the second grade, and Briar is 6 years old and in Kindergarten. We're from Nashua, NH. Both girls are both fanatical about helping animals. Eden is completely vegetarian and has been forever, and Briar even had her birthday guests donate to the World Wildlife Fund instead of bringing her presents. They soooo, wanted to help out with this cause. It's just heartbreaking the damage that this oil spill has caused."

The kids get it! Watch kids at the beach. They revel in it. The kids have a connection to the magic of the ocean - We grown ups have to close our eyes and remember that feeling.

Michele Henninger is the rightly proud Mama of these two artistes! Her card at the bottom shows she remembers that feeling. Please check out her work on her website and her blog.

Eric Barclay is an illustrator and designer living in Texas. His first children's book is due out this fall in the EU, and he's currently working on a second. -Eric sent that bio,... I'm gonna add on to this a bit... Eric is a fantastic character designer. Character design is a real specific skill. It's finding the personality of the character thru shapes and curves and line. When you're really good at it- you have fans who stare and go "How'd he think to draw that that way?" "Hmmm- maybe I'll try to figure that out and steal- er -I mean - borrow- I mean -er- be influenced" - I said too much! - I'm a big fan and you should be too!

This is Gouache on watercolor paper - a mini painting - a Barclay original for $10!
