Kristin Buchholz is an Art Teacher and new mother, living in western NY. Aspiring children's book illustrator and yoga instructor, "Ms. B," as she is known to her students, hopes that her art and love of creativity inspires and motivates others to be gentle to each other as well as to the earth. Finding ceaseless beauty in nature, she hopes that these small sketches add to the ripple of compassion and care spreading toward the devastation in the Gulf.

I am very grateful to Kelly for inviting us to take part in some positive action to help the wildlife devastated by this oil spill. Let's hope this marks a turning point for our entire culture and the world to change our ways for the better, moving toward sustainable, renewable resources.

The three sketchcards here were made on heavy cotton paper using watercolor pencils and glittery watercolor paint and pens.

Each card is available for a $10 donation. See details at right.

637 SOLD Taking Flight

My name is Emily Cole and I live in Los Angeles, CA. I love swimming with sea turtles whenever I go snorkeling in Hawaii. They move so gracefully it reminds me of flying, so I titled this piece “Taking Flight”. I painted this watercolor on a 4.5 x 6.5 piece of watercolor paper to be able to add more details.

631 SOLD Mother nature weeps...

I am a sketch artist living in Wilmington, Delaware . I have skill in graphic art as well as traditional, but my best pieces are mixed media. More of my artwork can be found here: http://eyeofthedragon237.deviantart.com/

I am angered and saddened by this disaster in the Gulf, its destructive impact on the marine ecosystem and the negligence of those responsible for it. Humankind has left a stain on its only home that will remain for a long time to come. The eyes of God, Mother Nature and all of the world are on the Gulf of Mexico, and it is our hope that brighter minds can come up with a better solution for cleaning up the mess and the world's energy problems.

The card originated as a pencil sketch and was done over in ink and watercolor. I like this concept and I might try to come up with some spinoffs, perhaps a graphical version.

Each card is available for a $10 donation. See details at right.
